The chart shows how frequently people in the USA ate in fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.
The bar chart reveals information on the number of times people in America consume processed food from 2003 to 2013.
Overall, it can be seen clearly that the data of people enjoying fast food once a week and once a month accounted for the highest proportion of the population. An upward trend was recorded in the percentage of people eating ready meals one or twice a month and few times a year whereas the remaining categories witnessed a contrast movement.
When looking at the percentage of people consuming fast food everyday, the chart showed that the figure reached a peak in 2006 at 20%, then fell marginally to nearly 15% in 2013. The similar trend was witnessed in the next category with the highest point at more than 30%. Nevertheless, the proportion of people eating fast food once or twice a year started at exactly 30%, then a decrease of 10% was recorded, which was followed by a recovery of approximately 15% in 2013, accurately equal to that of once a week.
Moving on to analyse the remaining part of the chart, the percentage of people enjoying processed meals a few times a year grew minimally by 5% and stabilized at 15% in 2006 and 2013. However, the statistic regarding people consuming ready meals everyday and who never tasted those dropped slightly from 2003 to 2006 and remained constant during the last 7 years of the given period.
