Many people today, especially in the developed world, are choosing to have fewer children, or none at all.
Why is this happening, and do you think it is a good trend?
In this sedentary lifestyle, people view bringing up children as additional responsibility, which they are not ready to take up. Various reasons pertaining to the views are disclosed below supporting my views that such trends are positive.
Firstly, India is a highley populated country with the count of babies increasing daily. With more and more people deciding not to have kids would eventually reduce the population growth rate, which is a positive sign. The reason why I consider this as positive is that at the current pahce various resources might be scearse in future. People would prefer to concentrate on their carrier and spend vacation with their life partner rather than to take kids along. They would simply be additional expense. For Instance, recently I met a happy couple who did not have kids. They told that they are happy without them. It is possible that at some point other kids annoyed them to the extent that they did not want to have them.
Secondly, When people did not have kids, they can make rash decisions or go for a trip as and when they wanted to without having to worry and plan for the kids schools. Furthermore they will have abundant time for others, unlike various parents. For example, my cousin who had twins recently is spending sleepless nights taking care of them. Though he does not regret the activities he greatly misses the time they go out on short trios. He also seems to miss his sleep.
To sum up, when people decide not to have kids it would be for a good reason and their decission should be respected,
