Essay topics:

Marriages are bigger and more expensive nowadays than in the past. Why is this the case? Is it a negative or positive development?

Nowadays, marriages are far more extravagant than before and are celebrated like carnivals. we see the instagram and Facebook profiles are flooded with wedding pictures which themselves makes us eager to buy designer clothes, have pre-wedding shoot and allures us to have a destination wedding even when we have tight budget. it has become a trend to spend lavishly on wedding just for the sake of posting pictures on social media. Personally, I believe that gives a negative message to the society making the generation of the millennial progressively materialistic.

people all over the world want their dresses to be designed by fashion designers who are charging hundred pounds just for the dresses being worn on the weddings. wedding have become a business and have lost its sanctity of just being considered the holy union of two souls for rest of their lives. Moreover, people are charged humongously for a three day celebrations without taking into consideration whether they will be able to bear the expenses. but, since it is a style statement to have a big fat wedding, they will definitely follow the trend. Instead, wedding should be organised with keeping the budget and not for showing the wealth and family status.

However, there are few who still believe in simplicity of wedding and tend to make their wedding an event of doing charity for the poor. To exemplify, two government officials holding the ranks of indian administrative officers got married in a court and donated the money to an orphanage and an old age home. such gestures have a meaningful impact on the welfare of the society. So, why can not we become epitome of such gesture where we are sharing our special day with them?

To recapitulate, having mulled over above stated information it can be deduced that we need to plan wedding sensibly which is memorable for not only the newly weds but even become an excuse to share the happiness with the helpless and needy which will surely make the ceremony even more auspicious.
