Some people think that spending a lot on holding wedding parties, birthday parties and other celebrations is just a waste of money. Others, however, think that these are necessary for individuals and the society.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your experience.
Celebrations are a way of spreading and sharing happiness. Many people believe that hosting parties on special occasions is merely throwing money lavishly while others feel that these occasions are important for a person and people that live around. as it embarks a specific milestone achieved. I personally support the latter. This essay will discuss both views.
Many event in a person's life embarks the achievement of the specific goal. When people reach these goals they find it worth celebrating the sucess for happiness with their near and dear ones. Marriage, for example, is a widely celebrated event because this occasion comes once in a lifetime. Most people accumulate funds to celebrate it in the utmost grander and lively way possible.
In addition, there are other important events that families celebrate like the first birthday of a child, graduation from university or college. Though, people do not spend as much as these events as a marriage ceremony but to each family or individual it means something special.
However, when it comes to the cost there could be a number of unwanted spendings like hiring a venue to host the event, event planners to decorate the venue, caterer and waiters to cook and serve food respectively, special lightings, sending out invitations to guests, reserving hotels for guest accommodations etc. But with a little planning a lot of these expenses can be eliminated and still celebrate with the feeling of a festival.
To summarise, I believe some events are once in a lifetime occasions and they should be celebrated wholeheartedly while keeping the extra expenditure in mind.
