It is argued that having friends who share similar mindset with you is beneficial, while some people assume it is advantageous to find friends who does not share the same perspective as you. Even though, a friend with opinions close to us is a great company sometimes we need a buddy who disagrees with us to gives us proper guidance. In this essay both views will be argued followed by a conclusion.
On the one hand, having friends with whom you have many similar interests is pleasant. You can always share what you are going through with them during difficult times and be sure that they understand you and support you. In a Harvard business review case, it was indicated that people who have a support group of people with similar view and talk to them during hardships have higher serotonin level.
On the other hand, it is beneficial to have buddies who does not always agree with you and have different views toward different subjects. When you have a mate, who is not similar to you, you can learn many different things from them as they look at every matter in a different way than you. Sometimes is life, we need a friend who criticize us and gives you a wake-up call. For instance, when you have a non-smoker friend, she or he can alarm you regarding the harms of smoking rather than having friends who all smoke.
In a nutshell, some believe it is good to have friends with alike opinions beside you as a support while other suppose having companions with different views is more beneficial to teach you look at things otherwise.
