Which one do you prefer? students in high school should learn by sitting there listening to the teacher while taking notes or communicating and sharing ideas with class.
In this sophisticated world in which we live, education and related topics are in the main focus of parents and teachers' attention. The teaching styles which determine the efficacy of learning is one of the most important items in this field. While some believe that students at high school should listen to their teachers all time and attempt to absorb lessons, others disagree. Based on my experiences, high school pupils benefit a lot if they participate in the class actively and involve with the lectures as much as they can. I will elaborate on my reasons in the following essay.
First, communicating in class is the best way to increase students' attention to the lesson. Involving with the lecture while teachers are talking is the first and foremost step of learning, and it needs that students concentrate on the teachers' talking and think meticolously. When student want to share their idea with class, they try to understand the topic as much as they can, which is the object of class, then they will use their intellectual abilities to prepare their ideas and deliver in a well-suited way to grab the teacher and other peers heed. I remember when I was student in high school whenever teachers let us to participate with the topic, I not only listened to our teacher eagerly but also I focus on speaking skills to make the best speech in front of others. Therefore, this communicatng opportunity help me to learn lessons throughly.
Second, participating to the dialogue and sharing ideas provide student with a wonderful chance to improve thier communication skills. While a student starts to speak in front of other classmate gradually he becomes more confident and can talk infront of more audiences. Since students are our prespective leaders and managers, they need to improve their interpersonal communication skills such as; speaking and controlling of body language, and so on. I remember, at junior year in my high school our art teacher gave us some lectures about the verbal and non-verbal language communication. Then, he wanted all students in class to share their ideas about topics in all sessions considering all those hints. When I went to college, where many of classes were discussion-based, I did not encounter with a big problems about talking in front teachers and classmates.
In conclusion, contemplating all the reasons and details mentiones above, I am of the opinion that students should be allowed to contribute their thought with class. This is because they will learn better when they want to talk about the topic. Moreover, students will experience who speak in front of others which is a needed skill whether they go college or not. We should consider this approach even in elementary and middle school since it has myriad benefits for students.
