Elephants behaviors

Essay topics:

Elephants' behaviors

The reading and the lecture are both about interesting elephant behaviors. The author of the text feels that interest in elephants revealed amazing behaviors of theirs. The lecturer challenges the claims made by the author. She firmly believes that the ideas presented in the passage are skeptical.
To begin with, the author claims that elephants always know when they die and leave their flock and go near the water at this time. It is said that most bones of elephants had been found near the place called "elephant graveyards." This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. She mentions that elephants leave their herd to find food for eating because they are not having normal teeth when they get older. Additionally, she says that elder elephants go near the water because they can eat softer vegetation.
Secondly, the writer suggests that elephants can draw pictures and hold paintbrushes because they have artistic skills. Moreover, some elephants might have been known to paint images that showed noticeable things, such as flowers. The lecturer, however, refutes this by mentioning that a trainer always pushes elephants' air when they try to draw something because they are sensitive. She elaborates on this by bringing up the point that elephants only can paint lines and do not know what they are.
Finally, the author posits that elephants have a fear of mice and some scientists proved it. It is stated that they do not scare of dangerous animals in which elephants regularly share an environment. In contrast, the lecturer says that elephants are unfamiliar with mice, so elephants fear them. She notes that it is an instinct on them and where mice are common to them, they are not having problems.
