First of all, the reading claims, the increase in the number of human beings and their settlement will destroy the natural habitat of birds and so their number decrease. However, the lecturer says that for some kinds of birds these claims are right but mostly as the city grows, the number of birds that move to city increase and as a result human' population will not affect in a bad way on all kinds of bird's number.
Second of all, the passage mentions that, as the human populations increases, they will expand their agriculture land and again there will be bad effects on these birds’ habitats. In contrast, the lecture claims that in a country like united states with the growth in the number of human beings the need for agriculture's land decrease. Because the efficiency will increase and eventually less land will be used for this reason
And finally, the reading also shows that the poison of pesticide will kill insects that birds feed on them and this poison will also be a contaminant to the water that is birds water supply. As a result, birds will die and their number fall. However, the lecture rebus it. with less toxic and new pesticide there will be less dangerous to the birds. And also, we may even have pest resistance crops, so that there will be no need for pesticide.
To sum-up, humans' growth and need for agriculture may have bad effects on some kinds of birds. But generally, the causes bird's population grows to the degree that some people are even facing these problems.
