The article states that the Salton sea in california now are going to be more salty beacuse of high evaporatiom rate and suppose three solution. However the professor explain that all soloution are not practical and are unrealistic and reftes each of author's reasons.
To begin with the reading states that they can use special desalinization in order to seprate salt from water.The professor reject this point by saying that this can lead to some problems because some toxic materials would be produced and these material would threaten people's health.
Second, the reading argue that the other possible soloution is diluting lake's water with water from the ocean. The professor opposes this point and say that these method requires contruction of a long pipeline and it is too costly, and goeverment may not have enough financial resource for it.
Third, the reading contends that the other solution is dividing lake by construction of a wall. However, thethe professor explain that it would work for a short time, and some geotechnical activity could destroy these walls, as a result, the salty water would be mixed with all the freshwater.
