Pruning trees
In the lecture professor describes a poor pruning practice known as topping. In the following he mentioned some detriment of the topping that pruning needs to done wisely and believed badly pruned can become disaster. Also in the lecture, professor prove the pruning as benefit ways to grow's rate, thus some points in the lecture challenge points in the reading.
First, he states that topping does not keep a tree small and in contrast with believed of people, pruning lead to speed up the growth rate of trees. Also professor illustrate this issues with example of client's tree that now have the vast branches.
Second, in the lecture professor mentioned topping is a very stressful work for tree because such heavy pruning lead to removes very branches of the tree consequently, the rate of photosynthesis reduce extremely, so leaves as the factories of the trees eliminate and trees may starve. On the contrary, in the passage reading state pruning invigorate tress and keep them healthy.
Third, the lecture stated the topping destroys a tree's natural shapes and it gives weak branches. It contrasts with the point in the reading that pruning should enhance the natural shape and beauty of a tree. Furthermore, in the lecture explain the tree should have had an occasional light pruning instead of butchering trees heavily and this subject have proven in the reading passage.
