Replacement for the automobile's main source of power
Both the passage and lecture are about replacing the automobile's main power sources, due to the problems that internal-combustion engines have. The author of the passage suggested using hydrogen-based fuel-cell. On the contrary, the lecturer contradicts various viewpoints mentioned in the passage based on three reasons.
To begin with, the lecture mentions that hydrogen can not be a good replacement, because we could not be using hydrogen directly in the sources that we find, like water, without changing its shape to liquid form. However, this implementation needs high-cooling systems. in conclusion, the professor bring out the idea that it is true we could find hydrogen in various sources, yet we could not use all of these sources easily.
In addition, the professor doubts that using hydrogen would solve the contamination problem as the passage claimed. we need to use oil and fuel to prepare the hydrogen to become useful and this process has polluted the air. so we just change the way of polluting not solving the problem.
In the end, the professor draws attention to the cost of equipment which helps chemical reactions acquire so that we can use hydrogen in the cars. She rejects the author's mention that says:" the fuel-cell powered can require only half in contrast of internal - combustion powered cars".
