Summarize the point in the lecture and the passage
The passage and the talk both discuss the possibility of having feather by Sinosauropteryx, the fossil of which have been found in China. The writer contends that this kind of dinosaur could not be feathered. The lecturer, however, refutes the author's assessments. She demonstrates three reasons to cast doubt on the claims made in the reading.
The first allegation of the script against which the orator argues is that the fine lines observed in the fossil may have been formed after the death of animal. In contrast, the professor highlights the fact that there have been no such a decomposition in other fossils. Moreover, fossil found in the volcanic ashes turned to be preserved well and there is no evidence in them that shows decomposition.
Second, according to the text, these lines can be associated with frills of the dinosaur not its feather. Although, the speaker finds this idea debatable. She bolsters her opinion by stating that there is a distinct chemical evidence that assures us about relating these lines to the feather of the animal. She says that the fossil contains batacaratin which is a content found in the leather not frills.
Lastly, the lecturer contradicts this fallacy of the passage that feather on the back bone of the animal is useless and can not be used neither for fly nor adjusting the temperature of the Sinosauropteryx, saying that the feather could have other benefits for the animal. She notes that some birds use their feather to attract their mates. She also adds that the evidences show that the feather of this animal was colorful, orange and white actually, so it could definitely use for display.
