In this set of materials, both the article and lecturer discuss the stuff which have been excavated in Iraq. The text firmly states that it is not probable the vessels were used as electric batteries, However, the professor repudiates what have stated in the reading.
Firstly, the lecturer asserts the vessels have discovered by local people, So, it is likely that they have not known the importance of electricity conductors and discarded them. In the conterary, the essay alleges there is no evidence of metal wires near the vessels. So, it is unlikely that this vessels would be used as electric batteries.
Moreover, the professor avers it is true that the copper cylinders inside the jarslook similar to copper cylinders discovered in the ruins of Seleucia, but it is not proving any thing. Besides, these cylinders may designed fo some purpose but their usage have been changed over the time. So, They may have been used by liquid in a peace of time to produce electricity. On the other hand, the text contends that since the cylinders found with the jars have the same shape with the copper cylinders in the Seleucia, it is highly probable that they have had the same application in the past.
Finaly, the lecturer declares that the ancient people may uses these batteries as an invisible power or magical power. Besides, they may used this power stimulate mussles for traeting the pain in them. Conversely, the text claims that ancient people have nothing to do with electricity. So, the batteries would have been completely useless to them.
