According to the reading passage Robert E. Peary reached to the North Pole in April 7, 1909. Peary was a famous adventurer who is the first arctic explorer reached the North Pole. Although, reading passage provides three reasons in favor of the Peary argument but the professor opposed each of them.

First, according to the passage, the National Geographic Society approved that Peary reached to the North Pole at proposed time. Professor opposes this statement because he belives however reading passage claims that the committee conducted a comprehensive investigation on the Peary documents but the committee memebers were the friends of Peary and also they supported Peary on his adventure. So their investigation was not truthful and carefull.

Second, in professor view the speed of Peary for reaching to the North Pole from Ellesmere Island is unbleveable. Although the passage explains that Avery, a British expolorer, traveled to the North Pole with the same equipments of the Peary in less than 37 days but professors claims that Avery hadn't his foods with his-self and the airplane droped his foods during the trip. Also the weather conditions were cleary harder in Peary's adventure than Avery one.

Finally, even though scientist can detect the sun radiation angle with investigation of the shadows in the images, professor fight against this approach for Peary's photographs. Because the Peary's photos were taken about 100 years ago and their qualities were too low as they caught with the primitive camera. Also during the years the shadows in that images become faded and so scientist couldn't examine the sun angle exactly.
