The reading and lecture both are discussed about agnostids behaved and they are arthropod relatives of modern day insects. While the reading discussed in favor of the topic are they relatives of arthropod and provides three different theories to support this topic. However, the lecture refutes this points that make reading and she states that this theories are weaken to prove that agnostide are relatives of arthropod.
Firstly, the reading claims that agonostide are free swim predators who hunted smaller animals. Reading also stats that arthropod are very strong swimmers and active predators and agnostide are small almost six millimeters but lots of smaller organism are aveilable in ancient occan. However, the lecture says that swimming predators have strong vision but in the case of agnostids their vision not well developed and sometime they are blind. So this theories are not worked.
In addition, the reading make the argument that agnostids are seafloor dwellers Where other primitive arthropods live his way. However, the professor refutes this point by saying that seafloor dwellers are slow moving and their geographical location is very small, but agnostids are fast moving animals and their geographical area are very large.
Finally, the reading passage claims that agnostide may be a parasites who live on larger organisms. the author think that agnostide live on fish and other arthropods. The lecture refutes this point by saying that parasites population are live very few number because living organisms are always eat them. But in the case of agnostide they are live large number population. That defined that agnostide are not a parasites.
