TPO 52- Asteroids are large space objects made of rock and ice. There are hundreds of thousands of asteroids in our solar system. Though we often hear ideas about establishing colonies of humans to live and work on our Moon or our neighboring planet, Mars

The passage and lecture are arguing over whether the astroids are suitable as best colonization option. The author lists three reasons to justify that astroid are a good option for colony. In contrast, the professor holds oppiste view and mentions that these reasons are not practical and she refuses these reasons one by one.

Firstly, it is said on the passage that astroid have less garvity than other planets and moon which eases the landing. On the contrary, the lecturer states that low gravity has some adverse effects on the astronuats' bodies like softening bone and muscle mass problems. Therefore, landing on the astroid might causes some problem for the astronuat health.

Secondly, the author maintains that the asteroids contain some precious raw materials which make trip to asteroid be profitable. The lecturer, however, casts doubt on this matter and he asserts that this in not whole picture. When the astronaut exploit precious material form asteroid and transmits these materials to earth, in this respect the supply of these material increase, as a result, the prices of these materials decrease. Thus, there is no guarantee that trip to asetorid become a profitable trip.

Finally, the author suggests that asteroid sometimes are so close to earth and they are easily accessible. Nevertheless, the professor points out that the asteroids are not still and they move, so they might approach to the earth but after a while they move away from earth. Hence, it might be easy to reach and land on the asteroid but it is so difficult for astronaut to come back to the earth from a further place, because of the asteroid movement.
