In this set of material, the reading passage claims that the cane toad - a species of amphibian native to central and south America- introduced to Australia to protect from farmers' products, but then it was a harmful effect on other small native animals. The lecture brings three approaches for terminating to this problem; however the lecture finds all ideas suspicious and provides some evidence to advocate that these approaches are unsuccessful. The information the professor provides contradicts the fact outlined in the reading passage.
First, the reading passage declares that building a national fence can help to control cane toad population, because they will not be able to spread any more, in contrast the lecture argues that there are a lot of cane toad's eggs in the rivers that they can carry other parts of country, consequently they can produce in other side easily, so this national fence is ineffective.
Second, the author of reading proposes that Australia should use volunteers to capture these cane toads, volunteers can get them with hand or can destroy their eggs, on the contrary the professor believes that this idea can hart to native frog of Australia. Sine these native frogs are similar to the cane toads especially when they are young, subsequently untrained volunteers will not discern them with the cane toad species.
Third, the reading passages tells about a disease-causing virus that this type of virus can infect some reptiles and other amphibian species, however it will not create harm effects on them, it just have harm influence on cane toad, conversely the lecturer argues that Australia's reptiles or amphibians frequently transport to other countries for research and so on, when these infect reptiles or amphibians come to America, The virus into them can destroy the cane toad that is a native species in America.
