Second, the reading passage claims that many persons prefer to read web pages or watch a music video instead of sitting down with a challenging novel and trivial forms of entertainment have lowered the level of culture. In the same way, the speaker validates the idea and adds that this kind of thing happened in the daily life of modern peoples and accomplishment this activity is not in the poor level of culture.
Third, the author in the passage puts forward the idea that the writing, as well as the reading of literature, is likely to decline because of the poor standards of today' s readers. Admittedly, the professor in the lecture justifies the information presented in the reading and makes the point that some times the modern writers prepare materials that are difficult to understand with complex language.
To sum up, the writer and speaker hold a conflicting view about reading the literature between young adults.
