The graph below shows the rate of smoking per 1000 people in Someland from 1960 to 2000.
The flow chart given illustrates the number of smokers out of 1000 divided by gender from 1960 until 2000. As is observed, there has always been more male users of tobacoo than female ones, however the difference in the number decreases with time.
In 1960, 600 out of 1000 men smoked. This figure fell slowly until 1970 when it started to fall more rapidly to reach 250 by the year 2000. On the other hand, the case with women was entirely different: females using tobacoo doubled in 5 years reaching 200 out of 1000 in 1965. The trend levelled off for a while then another dramatic increase followed in 1970. After hitting a peak of 300/1000 in 1975 the figure remained stable then started to gradually decrease to touch 200 per 1000 in 2000 to be slightly less than men who smoked.
Overall, smokers of both genders have shown a downward trend in recent years.
