The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line chart shows the amount of water use and the table compare how much water consumed in two different countries from 1900 to 2000. Overall, it is clear that water usage rate for all factors agriculture, industrial, and domestic increased over the period of 100 years. Also, the figures for all measures such as population, irrigated land and water consumption in Brazil were significantly higher than the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Looking at the first chart, as can be seen, standing at close to 500 km3 in 1900, the amount of water used for agriculture increased gradually and reached at 3000 km3 in 2000. This figure was consistently higher than the figures of other factors throughout the period of ten decades. On the other hand, although accounting for a similar figure, with 100km3 of water use in 1900, the figure for water use in industries had risen to nearly 1300km3 by 2000, remained slightly higher than the figure for Domestic with a rise of about 400km3 of water use in 2000.
Turning to the second chart, Brazil where had the highest water consumption per person, with 259m3, while only 8 m3 of water consumption in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, it is logical that the reason why the amount of water consumed in Brazil was higher simply because the population and irrigated land of Brazil were considerably higher which had 176 million of population and 26,500km2 irrigated land, while there were only 5.2 million population and 100km2 irrigated land in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
