Two years ago, radio station WCQP in Rockville decided to increase the number of call-in advice programs that it broadcast; since that time, its share of the radio audience in the Rockville listening area has increased significantly. Given WCQP's recent success with call-in advice programming, and citing a nationwide survey indicating that many radio listeners are quite interested in such programs, the station manager of KICK in Medway recommends that KICK include more call-in advice programs in an attempt to gain a larger audience share in its listening area.
Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.
The head of KICK wants to use more and more call-in advice program for gaining a larger share of the audience. However, this conclusion was flawed. Since the share of these programs is known, what is the meaning the success in the radio program, and last but not least the two years is not long enough to change one program?
Firstly, there is not the clear way about how they obtain their statistics about the share of the audience, perhaps the number of people who like this change is least and just this people participant in the statistics. For example, In 2008 there was an election about the people who like to go to university without any hesitation, the old dislike the attitudes and wants the young understand the life meaning. On the other hand, the young want to continue their study.Since the number of elderly was far greater than the student. They win the election. By the way, this election has lots of faults why should the parents take decision for their children. In this sample just like the above, there was lots of fault regarding the election, first of all, the age group. The call-in advice good for what kind of age group. And, more importantly, the age group of the listener. if these two number is relatively equal. then they should be more realistic about the time of the program, the subject of this program.Although some parents might like this kind of program, It is suitable in the noon when people eating or in the night when the family gets together.
secondly, what is the meaning of success, success for some people mean money for other means prosperity in life? If they could raise their children fine, they call themselves successful. probably some parents and wants this call- in advice for their children, what about the others who like the routine broadcast and never will call.children who dislike this kind of program never let their parents see these shows. and mostly parents overcome to their children due to loving them so much.
Thirdly, the Two years is not sufficient time for making the big desition. at least there should be five to six years for making such decision.
In conclusion, If somebody wants to change the program in radio, he or she should think about all aspect of this issue, such as the reliable statistics and defining some vocabulary such success relating to radio program, and there should be at least five to six years of experiment before changing on program,
