The bar chart below provides information about the number of leisure time males and females of five different employment status enjoyed in a week in the year 1998-1999. As is observed from the graph, men and women of umemployed and retired categorises had more free time than people from other groups. When data is available for both gender, men also enjoyed more leisure time than women.
Full-time employed males had more than 40 hours leisure time per week and females from the same status enjoyed about 37 hours
No data has been provided for the part-time job and house-staying men, while part-time employed women and housewives had 40 hours and more than 50 hours spare time respectively.
On the other hand, approximately 85 hours for leisure time was enjoyed by umemployed men compared to 78 hours of that was spent for leisure activities by unemployed women. The retired people had the same amount of leisure time enjoyed by both sexes as the unemployed group.
