The table graphs show the information about the number of marriages and divorces in the USA from 1970 to 2000 and the percentage of marital of adult in American between 1970 and 2000.
In general terms, there was a fluctuation in the number of marriages and divorce in the USA from 1970-2000. Besides, the percentage of marital status ( Never Married, Married, widowed and divorced ) in this period.
It is clear from the first table show that the number of marriages in the USA was similar from 1970 to 2000 ( 2,5 million) . The figures has tend decreased gradually from 2,5 million to 2 million between 1980 to 2000. On the other hand, the number of divorces increased gradually from 1 million to about 1,4 million from 1970 to 1980 while the figures for divorces between 1980 and 2000 declined gradually from approximately 1,4 million to 1 million.
The second table graph show that the percentage of marital status of adults in American had a fluctuation to some ups and downs between 1970 to 2000. the percentage of never married in 2000 accounted more proportion in 1970 ( 20% and 15% respectively). In contrast, the figures for married in 1970 had more percentage than in 2000 ( 70% and about 60% respectively). the percentage of windowed in 1970 and 2000 had the same proportion ( 14% and 15% respectively). finally, in 1970 the proportion of divorced accounted a small rate ( only about 2%) while the figures in 2000 had accounting 9%.
