The mentioned pie chart reveals the main reasons for less production in agricultural land while the table reflects the affected three areas due to these causes during the 1990s.
Overall, as it can be seen on the pie chart that over-grazing is the dominant causes for land degradation whereas it is clear from the table that Europe is the most affected region for land degradation.
It is evident that a large area of the land had been affected most due to over-grazing which had a figure of 35%. Similarly, it was followed by deforestation with 30%. Furthermore, it was slightly lower in case of Over-cultivation (28%). Meanwhile, the other causes for land degradation accounted for only 7%.
Also, it can be seen from the table that Europe is the most affected continent for land degradation with 23% which constitute of deforestation of 9.8%, over-cultivation of 7.7% and over-grazing of 5.5%. Likewise, Oceania had a total figure of 13% with 1.7% due to deforestation, 11.3% because of over-grazing and over-cultivation had no contribution. However, only 5% land were degraded in North America which comprised of 0.2% deforestation, 3.3% over-cultivation and 1.5% over-grazing.
