evidences which show were Pterosaurs able to fly or not
The text discusses the life of Pterosaurs which were giant animals lived long time ago and provides three reasons why they could not fly. On the other hand, the professor goes against all stated points, and by providing contradictional information states why she believes Pterosaurs could actually fly.
First, the text claims that Pterosaurs were cold-blooded animals like their modern reptules. It also states that all cold-blooded animals have a slow rate of metabolism which cannot provide enough energy in a short time to help these animals fly. The professor refutes this point and states that there are some evidences which indicate Pterosaurs had a dence hair cover on their body, and this feature is typical of warm-blooded animals. In this way she rejects that Pterosaurs were cold-blooded. She also mentions that warm-blooded animals can supply needed energy for flying, and in this way describes why she believes Pterosaurs could fly.
Second, as the text, based on the huge size of Pterosaurs and their weight, their airbones could not support them to fly. The professor goes against this claim and states that Pterosaurs were actually huge but not too heavy. She continues that their bones were hallow not solid, and as a result, despite of their large body, they were not too heavy. By this point she states why Pterosaurs were so heavy which restricts them from flying.
Third, the text mentions that all animals which could fly are able to run fast and take off from the ground, but Pterosaurs were not able to run fast enough which is need to help them to take off and fly. In contrast, the professor brings a point that although birds use their legs to run fast and take off, some other animals like bats walk on their four lems and pushes themselves to take off. We can also hear from her that Pterosaurs could use all their four legs to run fast which could make it possible for them to fly.
