tell your employer what you plan to do after leaving your present employment.
Dear Mr Shah,
I am writing this letter to disclose to you that I have decided to resign from my position as Sales Manager within your company.
As you are aware, last month I tied the knot with my husband who is well settled in The New York. Now that I have to move there as well, I have decided to discontinue my work here. I have always enjoyed working with this company, and have learnt a lot about marketing and sales strategies. My colleagues and bosses have been wonderful to work with, and I have acquired a set of skills from each one of them.
It has been a pleasure to join this company, and I hope that you will be able to provide me with a letter of reference so that I can attach it with my future job applications in the New York. If you could let me have that by the end of this, that would be lovely, as I will be leaving for the New York by the end of that week.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Yours sincerely,
James Smith
