The diagram below shows the stages and equipment used in the cement making process and how the cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
The diagram provided gives information on the different steps and apparatus required for producing cement and also renders the process of preparing concrete from the cement for the purpose of the building.
From the first figure, we can observe that limestone and clay are together crushed in order to produce a powder which is sent through the mixer for blending purpose. The mixture now reaches the rotating heater which supplies flame from the other end of the cylinder. After several rotations, the product is sent to the grinder where the cement is made into fine powder and the final product is now packed into bags.
In the second figure, the production of concrete was shown which is of a single step. In this stage, cement, water, sand and small stones called gravel are added in different compositions. In particular, water is used in the least quantity of 10% followed by 15% cement. In ascending order, the amount of sand placed in a concrete mixer is about one-fourth and gravel occupies nearly half of the total composition. All the above ingredients of required quantities are added into a concrete mixer and rotated gradually which finally results in concrete.
