To embark on, the ownership of TV receivers in the world in 1997 was 200% (three times) higher than in 1970 at 81. Least developed countries were negatively correlated with a mere minority of idiot boxes in both years, at 0.5 and 23 respectively.
In the developing countries, standing at only 9.9 in 1970, there was appreciable acceleration to 157 after 27 years. Meanwhile, although the rate began at higher point than other areas, (263) it jumped further to 548 in 1997.
