The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.
The table illustrates the proportion of consumer expenditure on three types of categories in five nations in 2002.
Overall, the percentage of consumer spending on food/drinks/tobacco was highest in each country. The item of leisure/education, on the other hand, had the lowest percentage. It is also obvious that Turkey was generally higher than the other four countries.

Slightly lower than that of Turkey, the percentage of Ireland stood at 28.9%, while the percentage of Spain at 18.80%. The leisure/education, in contrast, was an item which had the lowest percentage of consumer spending in all countries, at under 5%.
Sweden was a country having the lowest proportion of consumer expenditure on food/drink/tobacco and clothing/footwear, at 15.77% and 5.40%. Spain had slightly higher than that of Sweden. However this nation recorded the least percentage of leisure/education, at only 1.98%.
