Downward trends were maintained in both the latter and the former by the year of 2000, remaining at approximately 10% and about 5%, respectively.
Regarding to other vehicles, bus accounted for about 18% of commuters in 1960, which was more than 3 times higher than the figure for car. It reached the peak of over 25% in 1980 before considerably diminishing to more than 15% in 2000. Meanwhile, by contrast, that of car was kept rising consistently, obtaining over 35% of travelers in 2000 and becoming the most common mean of transport among 4 items.
