Government funding should only be provided for the best students as scholarships. Other funding of universities should come from student fees and private organizations. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
These days, the receivers of government funding and sources of university funding are concerning a range of people. Some of them believe that funding from government should only be provided for the best students as scholarship, and other funding of universities should comes from student fees and private organizations. However, the fact should be the opposite.
To begin with, it is not a wise decision that only provide the best students with scholarship, which is coming from government funding. What comes to first, really outstanding students do not need to simulate themselves by scholarship. Actually, the majority of them restrict themselves with higher standard, and they do not really need anyone to exert pressure. Then scholarship seems meaningless for those students who are already outstanding. Karlie Kloss, a successful model who graduated from the University of New York, for instance. She used to say that she was studying really hard in order to perfect herself. Obviously, Karlie studies with clear goal, and she owns strong ability of self-management. That is why she can be such popular among all the models. Furthermore, students with poor studying talents are more need encouragement from teachers, because it could be hard for them to be enthusiastic on study.
There could be many drawbacks if other funding of universities comes from student fees and private organizations, because the fees may risen, and for those private organizations, they are suggested to donate their money or equipments to many other places that are more urgent. Rural areas, for example. Firstly, there are a lot of families lacking of money to support children to learn in universities. In that way, it even becomes harder for these children to be competitive when they are finding jobs in the future. Crime rate could be increased, and it is definitely a negative influence to society. Besides, so many human issues are still concerning human, so relatively, those private organizations are suggested to contribute more on these places. A case in point is that in Africa, residents in countries such us Kenya and Nigeria are threatened by illness and disease. Many NGOs are providing aims.
Undoubtedly, scholarship is not not suggested to only provide to those outstanding students. Besides, the sources of scholarship should not coming from student fees or any private governments.
