The pie charts compare the percentages of different types of sources used to produce electric energy in France and Germany in 2009. At a first glimpse, it’s evident that while the most used German source was by far conventional thermal, both nuclear and hydroelectric energies supplied the highest amount of electricity in France.
The first pie charts illustrate that overall, conventional thermal and nuclear supplied the highest amount of energy while renewable sources accounted only 17,4% and 13% in Germany and France respectively.
In detail, the second pie charts describe percentages of electricity produced by 4 renewable sources- biomass, hydroelectric, wind and solar: in detail, in Germany biomass and wind energy sources represented more than two-thirds of the total, accounting 39,3% and 36,9% respectively whereas France reported a marked production of Hydroelectric energy, assessed around three-quarters of the whole electricity produced by renewables.
In conclusion, the pie charts highlight that both the 3 countries are provided with the highest amount of electricity by non-renewable sources of energy.
