You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,
give details of your study plans
explain why you want to get a part-time job
suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Sam,
I hope this letter find you well. I am writing today to request for an assistance is searching for a part time job.
My parents are currently experiencing financial difficulties and they won't be able to provide money for my studies. Enrollment is fast approaching and I am planning to get a part-time job at any of the local stores. I have had past experiences working in diners for a year during high school and since I've been staying in Bristol for quite a while now, I already know my way around.
The last time we saw each other was at a restaurant near the center. If my memory serves me right, you were telling me that you knew the owner of that place. I'm wondering if you can ask her if they have any job openings. My plan is to get a lesser load this semester so that I can work on either of the shifts available. Apart from that, I am aware that the first few months would not be easy for me, so I have also come to a decision to leave the acting group that I'm in.
Juggling my studies and work is risky but I need to do this in order to support my self. I would really appreciate if you can help me with this matter. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Joyce Smith
