You borrowed some books from your school or college library. Unfortunately, you have to
go away to visit a sick relative and cannot return the books in time.
Write a letter to the library. Explain what has happened and tell them what you want to do
about it.
I’m writing to you, to inform you that last month I borrowed books from the school library, to do my final report, but I had a family issue and I couldn’t bring the books back on time and missed the due date.
Unfortunately, one of my cousins had a chronic disease and he got badly sick lately, so were obliged to travel to our original country to visit him and stand next to his family.
I would like from your side to take this situation into a consideration, and even if you can extend the borrowing time of the books for two more weeks, until I arrive back to school and have some extra time to finish my final report, where I can submit it on time at the end of the year.
Hope I can hear from you as soon as possible and accept my apologize for being late to return the books.
Sincerely Yours,
Student
