You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope.
Write a letter to the bank's head office. In your letter:
* explain why you are writing
* express concern about the missing card
* ask them what they intend to do
You do NOT need to write your own address.
Begin your letter as: Dear Sir or Madam,
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing with regards to the missing visa credit card from the envelope that I received from the bank yesterday. The bank has asked me to send back an acknowledgement that I have received the card, but there was no card inside the envelope. I am unsure about how can the card go missing from the envelope.
Let me explain the situation. When the courier boy delivered the envelope to my house, I took the delivery myself as I was on leave yesterday. He gave me the envelope, took my signature on the delivery list and then left. Immediately after closing the door, I opened the envelope and to my surprise there was no card inside it. I remember that the envelope seal was not hampered in any way before I opened it. I am unsure whether this is a bank’s mistake for forgetting to put the card inside the envelope or was there a card theft in transit. Since the card is a chip card and does not need a PIN for any transaction below Rs. 10,000, I am very concerned about its misuse. I have still not received any messages about the card, so I am unsure if mobile notifications are activated for this card.
I ask you to look into this matter urgently and first find whether there was even a card in the envelope in the first place. If the bank missed to put the card, then it is very disappointing for a prestigious bank like yours to do such mistakes. But if it is lost or stolen in transit, then I ask the bank to block all the transactions on this card and deactivate it. Also, please send me a new card as soon as possible.
Thank you for your consideration.
Thanks & Regards,
Deepti
