The house prices average of four towns in Massachusetts between 1988 and 2002 is given in the line graph. The figures are measured in US dollars. The data can be grouped into two towns which had a dramatic increase in prices and those that only had a modest rise. Overall, it can be clearly seen that by the end of the period, all figures fell down excepted for Cambridge’s figure.
To begin, the figure started about 220,000 in both Cambridge and Duxbury’s figure in 1988. Then, there was a gradual fluctuation around 250,000 from 1988 to 1995 in both towns. After that, Cambridge’s figure rose significantly, in 1995, to reach a peak of roughly 580,000 in 2002 which continued to do so. In contrast, Duxbury’s figure increased sharply between 1995 and 2001 from 220,000 to 420,000 before there was an unfortunated drop in 2001 until the end of 2002.
On the other hand, from 1988 to 1995, there was a slight fluctuation around 150,000 in Framingham and Milford’s figures before both figures climbed minimally to 280,000 and 240,000 in Framingham and Milford respectively. Finally, there was a steady decline in 2001 in both towns throughout the period.
