medical about patient traditionally or electronic
The reading and the listening passages have a debate on benefits of electronic medical information of sick peoples in compare to paper-based ones. The penman puts forward 3 main reasons, which are refuted by following orator.
First of all, the writer proposes that electronic version diminishes the cost of producing, transferring and maintaining data. On the contrary, the speaker views this issue from an opposite angle. According to her, keeping formal data needs to signature and if the doctors use the electronic information they should have a paper copy of them too.
In addition, second point offered by the author is that using not-paper method help to minimize the error of unclear handwriting and other recording mistakes. On the other hand, the professor casts doubt on this assumption by saying that most doctors still use pen and pencil during visiting the patients and if they should use the computer, it is needed to other person to enter data to it. As a result, possibility of doing mistake exist yet.
Lastly, the reading suggests that helping to researchers is more convenient by electronic data. However, the speaker holds a different position. She explains that strict province laws don not allow to speculators for having access to all kind of desired data. Not only should they follow sever processes to acquire permission, but they also may prevented by people who produce information through blocking availability of that data because of unknown purposes.
In all, the ideas mentioned in the lecture counter the opinions in the text in that unavoidable proofing and writing medical information in paper, in addition to undeniable bureaucracy for obtaining electronic sources make it difficult going in to modern electronic world.
