The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagrams illustrate how electricity is generated by a wave-energy machine and two different options of location. Overall, water and air are used to spin turbine to generate electricity as well as installation costs differ for locations.
In general, water comes into the lower chamber while air flows into the upper chamber. First of all, water in lower chamber vaporises and rises to upper one through hole, which then turbine spins to create electricity. Subsequently, evaporated water turns into water again to go down level. Whereas, air comes from the top hole and hence, turbine is run. Followed by this process, air finishes its job and leave the upper chamber.
Wave-energy machine can be constructed in two different level of water. Where the machine in deep water consequences relatively higher rate of electricity, however, it costs more to construct. Another one, machine closer to land obtains small waves and does not generate electricity and hence, cost of this machine is not expensive.
Consequently, wave-energy machine is used where water waves frequently in order to obtain electricity but construction costs are variable for locations.
