You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter, give details of your study plans, explain why you want to get a part-time job, suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Chris,
I hope you are doing fine today.
I am writing a letter to let you know that I am coming to Manitoba, Canada for my post-graduation; therefore, I would need some help from you to settle down in the city.
Let me explain to you in more detail. I have recently got admission in Manitoba University for my post-graduation degree. It’s a two years program consist of 8 semesters, and the total cost would be $25,000. Due to the hefty fee, my initial plan was to study the first year as a full-time student and then continue the study with a part option, but it won’t work as the Canadian Government doesn’t issue the work permit visa to students with part-time study. So, I will a full-time student, and completed my degree within time.
Now, my elder brother is helping me with tuition fees which are already on a higher-end; therefore, I would need a part-time job to manage my day-to-day expenses including accommodation, transportation, and glossary during studying to avoid more burden on his pocket.
It would be better if you could let me know available job boards in Manitoba to apply online. Also, would that be possible for you to circulate my profile within your circle as you have lived there for a long time, so your reference would be much helpful to grab a part-time job?
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Your friend,
Alex
