summarize the point of view of the passage and the lecture

Essay topics:

summarize the point of view of the passage and the lecture

The main topic of both passage and lecture is about possibility of permanent living on Mars and Venus. The passage brings up some reasons that shows living on these planets are impossible; on the other hand, the professor completely denies whatever mentioned in the passage.

First, the passage asserts that atmosphere pressure on the Venus is more than the earth, and if any space craft goes on it, it will be crushed on a second. However, the professor refutes this, state that the space craft does not have to land on the surface, and it can be flouting above the surface, like a balloon. So, the surface pressure will be equal to the Earth.

Second, the passage explains that there is no water sources on the Venus and contains rare oxygen, and people have to bring these to the Venus from the Earth, consequently, it can not be a permanent station. In contrast the professor points that there is nitrogen and carbon dioxide, so it does not need to bring water from the Earth, they can obtain water and oxygen easily.

Third, the passage goes on to mention that there is not enough sun light because of the thick cloud around the Venus, as a result, lack of light do not let humans produce solar power cells. Nevertheless, the professor support a contradictory view as compared to the passage; he describes, although there is thick cloud, it is possible the sun light goes to the surface through the cloud. In addition, there is some light reflected too, and it is possible to generate energy from both of these.
