The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010
The bar chart illustrates the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups, started from 15 to over 65 years old who did regular physical activity in 2010.
Overall, what stands out is that, although there were not significant differences between two genders, men and women followed vice versa trends. It means that the percentage off women activity why is lower and started to increase and then decrease again, while males were more active at first and then the percentage of their physical activity declined, finally it had been risen as they became older.
As can be seen, males at the age of 15 to 24 did more regular exercise in comparison with other men's age categories, with 52.8 per cent. it followed downward trend till the age of 35 to 44 years old which shows least amount of physical activity (39.5 per cent). Thereafter, it had been risen gradually after 44 to over 65 years old.
On the other hand, young adult females worked out less than males, but fortunately they had been become more active slightly as time went by untill 45 to 54 age group which was the time when women did highest rate of regular physical activity, with 53.3 percent and next it dipped very slowly.Interestingly, males and females virtually did similar range of activity when they were 65 and over, with 46.7 and 47.1 percent repectively.
