You have heard about plans to build new apartments in a public park near your home. You want to give your opinion about this. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. In your letter
• Explain how you learnt about these plans
• Say what you think of the park
• Give your opinion on the plans
Dear Editor,
My name is Jot and I am a resident of Singh’s colony. I am writing to give my opinion about the plans to build a new apartment in a public park.
I came to know about the new apartment plans in the place of the public park yesterday evening in the community hall. I went to an event arranged by the society where the mayor announced the plans and also disclosed that the execution of the plans will start next month.
I was very shocked at listening to the plan and even many people from the society were very disappointed with the plans because the park where the government has decided to build the flats is common to two societies. It is the best refreshment place for many people who are full-time workers. Elderlies use to sit and gossip there for a long time. Children's games are there with different slides. In the morning people use the open gym established in the park a few years ago. This park plays a vital role in everyone’s life.
I would like to recommend that the government should abandon the plan of establishing a new apartment in the place of the park. They should have an opinion from the whole society before executing it.
I look forward to an apt action from your end.
Yours Faithfully,
Jot
