You are due to start an English language course next week but you will not be able to because you have some problems. Write a letter to the manager of the language school, Sally Flannigan. In your letter:
explain your situation
describe your problems
tell him/her when you think you can start.
Dear Ms. Flannigan,
I am writing to inform you about my inability to join the English course that I have enrolled last week, that is due to start on 24th December of next week. I am John Stansworth for your reference to look on the records of my registration.
I have received an amazing opportunity to work on a maintenance issue abroad last week due to some urgent requirement in my company's Asian centre at Thailand. I was waiting for such for the past 3 years to represent myself for the international centers and also experience the working culture in an Asian country. Therefore, I had to accept the call from my Manager for immediate travel to Thailand. Just after the call I realized I will overlap with the dates of language course that I had registered in your institution.
Though I will return on 23rd of December a day before the course, but it would be very late night as per my indicated flight landing times. I think I will not be in a position to wrap up myself to start a study that would be intensive. And also, I will have to report my company on the trip work which will take another 2 days.
It would be highly appreciable if you could help me to adjust my start dates, owing to my unforeseen last minute changes. I will be very comfortable and well prepared if I could start on 27th December that would be 3 days later from the actual dates.
I will be looking forward to hear positive from you.
Yours sincerely,
John
