The given table illustrates the percentage of average family expenses in four categories in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Spain.
The main pattern observed in figures is the predominance of housing in France, the UK, and Germany followed by food and drinks. However, in Turkey and Spain they are switched.
The major source of spendings in France, Germany, and the UK was accommodation with approximately one third in all these countries. The second largest group was food and drinks accounting for about a quarter of total incomes of a household. The clothing made up 7, 15, and 11 per cent respectively, while share of entertainment was only eleven per cent in the UK, followed up France with 13 per cent and Germany with almost one fifth.
Meanwhile, the biggest fraction of salary in Turkey and Spain was spent on foods with 36 and 31 per cent respectively. The housing demanded about one fifth of mean wage in the mentioned countries. Clothing and entertainment had a portion of around 22.5 per cent collectively.
