The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017.
The given line graph details the pattern of visitors( in millions), who headed to the Caribbean island and stayed on the cruise ships and the island. The complete survey is done over a period of seven years from 2010 to 2017.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the total number of visitors kept on rising significantly. Although stay on the island remained popular among the visitors, cruise ships gained major popularity during the end period.
According to the given illustration, exactly one million people visited the island during the starting year. With the passing time, the number rose by two-fold and climbed to 2.6 million before getting leveled off to the same number between 2015 and 2016. After that, a dramatic increase pushed the figure to a peak value of 3.5 million by the end of the period.
With regard to staying, more than half a million visitors preferred an island stay as opposed to just 0.3 million who went for the cruise ships in 2010. Although the former got stable to .7 million until 2011, an upward trend in the latter rose the value by 0.5 million. Over time, the island's demand observed a continuous rise to attain stability at 1.5 million in 2017, whereas after experiencing a tipping point, the cruise bookings surpassed the island's demand by half a million and reached 2 million in 2017.
