The given table provides information about students of the University of Manchester in 1937, 1967 and 2017 years.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the number of enrolled students rose dramatically throughout the period, as well as the proportion of foreigners. The percentage of citizens within the 40 miles, in opposite, fell.
The total number of students that were enrolled in the university was 327 in 1937. Then it more than tripled in the next 30 years and reached 6254 in 2017. The similar pattern is observed in the figures of foreigner's fraction. In the first year, it was only 6 per cent of them, which came from 4 countries, followed by 7 per cent from 26 states in 1967 and a third from more than 100 countries in 2017. In contrast, the number of locals dropped from 55 per cent in 1937 to just over zero in 2017.
The male-female ratio fluctuated around 55 to 45 on average in the given period. While in the 20th century more men were enrolled at the university, 55 per cent of students were females in 2017.
