There is a slight difference in Germany and in France produced electricity from renewable energy, approximately 18% and nearly 14%.
The renewable energy comprises hydroelectric, wind, biomass, and solar energy. In France, the majority renewables consist of hydroelectric power, which is used to produce electricity, 80%. Nevertheless, in Germany there are two major renewable sources: biomass (39.3%) and wind (36.9%). The solar energy accounts for the least proportion for both countries.
Overall, Germany primarily relied on conventional thermal in comparison with France which produced the majority electicity from nuclear power. When it comes to renewables, France mostly applied hydroelectricity, however Germany utilized both biomass and wind in similar amount.
