The graph below shows radio and television audiences of United Kingdom throughout the day in the year 1992.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
Given the graph which illustrates the percentage of UK radio and TV audiences throughout a day in 1992. Figures are registered for different hours ranging from 1 AM to 24PM and numbers are counted in the proportion of the UK population ( over 4 years old).
At a single glance, it is evident that more people tended to watch TV than listening to the radio back then in general.
Specifically, at the beginning of the given time, proportions are 45 and 6% for radio and TV followers, respectively. From 1AM to 6 AM, the number stood still for a short course time. Although the two lines formed similar patterns at that time, the percentage of TV watchers was moderately ahead of radio’s. However, at 6,00 in the morning, the number of radio listeners outran TV audiences’ and underwent a sharp ascent. It reached a peak and got about 25% of the UK population listening to radio at 8 in the morning. Nevertheless, the percentage of radio followers gradually diminished and stopped at 15% in the afternoon. Whilst, the number of TV watchers witnessed active oscillation. Notwithstanding that, it took over radio listeners at 13,00 and showed sights of noticeable growth at 15 PM. Overall, at 15 in the afternoon, the proportion of TV and radio audiences are 15% and 10% orderly.
From 5 PM onwards, a plethora of people started to enjoy their TV time and fewer people listened to the radio. Accordingly, the number of TV audiences rose overwhelmingly and hit a high point at 45%. Later on, the number tanked and ended by 15% and the end of the day. Meanwhile, the percentage of radio audiences oscillated and got 4% of listeners at the very end.
