The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with the projections until 2030.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph illustrates trends in US fuel energy consumption since 1980 and predicting results by the 2030, information was collected in 2008.
As can be seen from the graph, petrol and oil appear to be a leading type of fuel for Americans and have an upward trend with the passage of the whole period. The intake began with 35 quadrillion units, following with double drop above 30 units, it will be increased broadly from the 1995 onwards.
Turning to the coal and natural gas performance, we notice that significantly less people prefer these types of energy. Their usage proportions are quite erratic, with exceptions to projections for the foreseeable decade. In 1980 the coal hovered around 20 quadrillion units, when consumption of natural gas was slightly less (above 15 quadrillion units). In 2030 coal and gas are predicted to reach its maximum at 30 and 25 quadrillion units per year, respectively.
From 1980 to 1990 the remaining variety of energy fuel have roughly similar patterns fluctuating at the 4 quadrillion unit level. But during the following years the nuclear energy has been increasing moderately with projections to be well above 8 quadrillion unit by the end of investigated period. The solar and wind and hydropower sources of energy continued to have similar tendency in consumption until 2010 and then solar and wind fuel consumption will be increasing their indicators gradually, and it appears to reach 5 quadrillion units by the end of the period.
