The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
The bar chart illustrates citizens’ coffee and tea purchasing and consuming tendencies in five cities in Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart.
Overall, it can be seen that in all five cities, buying fresh coffee in last 4 weeks was the least popular option while the opposite was true for going to a café for coffee or tea in last 4 weeks, except in Adelaide.
As shown in the chart, the figures of those purchasing fresh coffee in last 3 weeks in Sydney and Melbourne were 44 percent and 42 percent respectively. Meanwhile, 45 percent of the surveyed population in Sydney bought ready-made coffee in last 4 weeks. That proportion in Melbourne was slightly higher with about 48 percent. A similar trend can be noticed in the data of people going to a café to have coffee or tea in these two cities during the given period. Specifically, 63 percent of Melbourne’s residents went out for a drink whereas that of Sydney was lower by 2 percent.
With regards to the 3 other cities, Brisbane and Adelaide shared the same percentages of people who bought fresh coffee in last 4 weeks with 34%, which was also the smallest number in comparison with that of other cities. In Brisbane and Hobart, chosen by 53 percent and 54 percent of the citizens respectively, enjoying coffee or tea at a café accounted for the highest percentages among three categories while in Adelaide, the most favorite habit during the surveyed period was buying instant coffee with 55 percent of residents selecting it.
